Training proposal

Written by

IMG 1744Training and capacity building are necessary for getting effective vulnerability assessment systems functional. Practitioners need to know and understand the tools at their disposal and how these can be used to plug knowledge gaps in policies and programming. Sometimes they need to adapt, modify or develop variants of these tools.

But they also need good, practical hands-on training, specific to their purposes. Very often the generic courses at universities do not provide this applicability, while the targeted and specific trainings done on demand by consultants are not cost-effective.

Wahenga is proposing to run a series of training courses that will combine web-training with classroom and practical sessions. Practitioners will thus be able to gain knowledge of foundational systems and tools, field approaches and analysis tools such as spreadsheets, database queries and GIS.
